An Unforgettable Experience for Our U10/11 Team at the Tahs Season Opener

NSW Rugby delivered a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the 2025 season launch against the Highlanders, inviting four U10/11 teams to represent their District in a pre-game match. And, of course, our young Beasties were right in the thick of it!

With seven of the 23 Waratahs players hailing from the Beasties family, the connection was strong. Jack Bowen was more than happy to give the kids a pre-game pep talk, and Waratah #1750, Joseph Suaalii offered added inspiration and a whole lot of excitement as he stepped onto Allianz Stadium for his debut.

Playing together for the first time, our team took on friends—and rivals—Randwick and Petersham in two exciting pre-match games. The energy, competition, and camaraderie were electric, earning them a spot in the halftime finals.

For a group of 9- and 10-year-olds, playing under the stadium lights at halftime against the Sylvania Bulldogs was an unforgettable moment—one they’ll be talking about for years to come.

Not that they needed it… but this night was the ultimate inspiration to keep developing, working as a team, and loving the game of rugby union!
